Who Are We and What Do We Do?
Who Are We?
At Alderman Knight School we have a team of specialist pastoral staff who support pupils’ emotional and social development, wellbeing and work with pupils to ensure they are able to achieve their potential in all lessons. Our Pastoral team have a wealth of expertise both nationally and as long standing Alderman Knight staff. The Pastoral team will work with teachers, support staff, external agencies, parents and pupils to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to address pupils’ specific needs are implemented across the school. The Pastoral team also provide additional support to pupils who would benefit from mentoring and specific emotional and social interventions, as well as providing support for those pupils with specific medical needs and aiding transition into adulthood.

Daily contact for parents is with the tutor team. The Tutor team are a key part of every child’s experience at Alderman Knight School. Pupils are placed in a tutor group based upon their needs, age and experiences thereby ensuring the best possible learning group. We try to keep pupils in a group with others who are in the same year group. The tutor groups range in size but are normally between 8-12 pupils in each tutor group.
