 Welcome to

 Alderman Knight School

Welcome to Alderman Knight School

Alderman Knight is a very successful and well-established special school for children aged 7 to 19 with moderate and additional learning difficulties, complex needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Many of our pupils live within the Tewkesbury and North Cotswolds area but the school is also able to take pupils from outside the local area.

Alderman Knight School has received an 'outstanding' judgement in each of its last four OFSTED inspections, dating back to 2010. The most recent inspection was an ungraded one, conducted on April 23rd and 24th, 2024. We are absolutely delighted that this inspection confirmed that Alderman Knight continues to be an outstanding school. You can read the whole report here.

We believe that the report reflects what we strive to do on a daily basis. Alderman Knight is a truly special place and we all feel extremely privileged to work here. We are incredibly well supported by our own school community but we also have huge support from the wider community.

We are fortunate to have a purpose built environment and the school buildings provide a learning environment that allows our pupils and students to access high quality facilities across the school, including specialist classrooms, a life-skills flat, a sensory room and a range of outdoor play equipment.

We hope this website gives you a real flavour of the school. We are continually adding to it to help you find out more about our school. We are especially proud of our community links and there are lots of examples included on the Community page.

We also add our Celebratory News every week which showcases some of the learning and opportunities all pupils and students have accessed that week.

To find out more information regarding what it is really like being here, you can also book onto one of our virtual Parent and carer information sessions which we do via Zoom. During these sessions, that last about an hour, we talk to you further about our school and the types of young people who thrive in our setting.

We also have several Open days throughout the academic year so please keep a look out on our website for the dates and how to book a place.

If you would like further information, please contact the school office.
