The Friends of Alderman Knight School - Registered Charity No: 1028866

The Friends of Alderman Knight School was founded in 1992 and exists to fundraise money which is used to enhance the learning environment and provide extra-curricular opportunities for pupils at Alderman Knight School and their families.

The Friends is run by a committee, comprised of staff, parents and members of the local community, who are elected annually at our AGM. Committee roles include the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, as well as general committee members. Our Annual General Meeting and accompanying coffee morning is an opportunity for families to meet members of the Friends committee and each other.

Throughout the year, the Friends organise a number of regular and one-off fundraising events, such as the annual Christmas Cheer event, Raffle and Summer Fair.

Using the money raised, the Friends host social events for pupils and their families, for example hiring out Malvern Splash swimming pool and Cattle Country Adventure Park for an evening.

Funds are also used to purchase items for pupils’ use at school – like picnic benches and utensils for the Lifeskills Flat, a shed for Forest school, secondary Christmas disco and primary Christmas presents. Finally, the Friends pay for coaches to transport pupils to events, like Young Voices Concert, Everyman Theatre for the Pantomime, Tewkesbury Rotary annual kids day out trip, and the whole school to Tewkesbury Abbey Christmas Service.
